Amid really brutal QB and offensive line play, Brock Bowers "disappointed" relative to expectations in his rookie debut. The team took the steps to address things in the offseason, which gives us hope that the talent that we could see clear as day will be able to thrive more this season. One thing is for certain: Bowers is the number one target earner in this offense. A clear tier above all other tight ends not named Trey McBride, he's a difference maker at the position. Wouldn't you want a wide receiver in your TE spot?
Trey McBride
Trey McBride was an obvious beneficiary of the garbage time statistical over performance of the Cardinals offense season, but let's not discount the talent here. He's an obvious target machine, able to operate basically anywhere on the field that he wants. And he should, once again, lead this team in targets. Brissett is back starting, at least for the first portion of the season, and this team is going to trail in games again, too. Will it look as high as last season? We have to assume regression's due overall, but McBride should be the most shielded from that regression. Clear top two TE.

Would I recommend Basement Brewed Sports subscribers take Brock Bowers or Trey McBride?
To me, the answer is Brock Bowers, who appears to have more of the ascending, upside-filled offensive situation. Geno Smith was awful in this offense last season, so the hope is that Kirk Cousins and/or Fernando Mendoza at least raise the bar slightly. There's also much less target competition, with Brock Bowers going against Ashton Jeanty, Jalen Nailor and Tre Tucker as the top three other options, while Trey McBride has to deal with first round rookie Jeremiyah Love, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson.
