Draft Guide Player Previews

CeeDee Lamb

A healthy CeeDee Lamb in a voluminous passing offense is a lock to be a first round pick. Unlike last year, the defense is at least somewhat improved, so those shootout games might be less prevalent, but this team will throw, and CeeDee is target earner number one. Draft with confidence in the back half of the first round.

Justin Jefferson

There's no denying the talent that Justin Jefferson has. There's also no denying how awful last season was. Thankfully, Kyler Murray is now in town and should provide at least competent QB play. If it all works out, there's #1 overall upside in his profile. We also now know where the bottom is. Worthy of a late first round pick in most formats, I wouldn't be shying away here.

Asking LinkedIn

I asked my LinkedIn followers to choose who they would pick ninth overall in a PPR fantasy football draft, and while Jonathan Taylor was the poll winner, it was Justin Jefferson (24%) that edged out CeeDee Lamb (20%) for the second place option.

Would I take CeeDee Lamb or Justin Jefferson?

It's a classic question of how much risk you want to take on. If you're a more risk-adverse player, then CeeDee Lamb is likely your option. If you're like me, though, and enjoy swinging for the upside, then you're with me in taking Justin Jefferson in what hopes to be an offense that'll find its groove again with improved QB play. He's got the upside to break into the first half of the first round in 2027, something that I don't believe is in the range of outcomes for CeeDee Lamb.
