I'll need to check this, but this might be the first time in NFL history where two games in the same weekend have over/under total spreads that are 20 full points apart.

As of this writing...

  • Bengals @ Bills has a 53.5 over/under line

  • Titans @ Browns has a 33.5 over/under line

Absolutely wild stuff. So, needless to say, we will not be stacking that Titans @ Browns game this weekend.

Of course, there's no other game within six points of Bengals @ Bills, either, which means that a ton of our competitors will be stacking that game.

So, what do we do?

Here are my week 14 DraftKings DFS picks & fades that I'm considering for my lineups.

Week 14 DraftKings DFS Stack of the Week

First, let's talk about that Bengals @ Bills game.

Obviously, you should consider stacking this game. High totals are generally high for a reason. Both teams are stackable, to an extent, as well as have elite QB play.

Again, please at least consider stacking this game. But I want to lay out the cases against stacking each team, other than ownership, to allow us to broaden our horizons and maybe find some value among the rest of the slate.

The case against the Bengals

If you're planning on stacking the Bengals, you'll have to contend with the high cost of the stack - especially if Tee Higgins gets cleared to play. Combined, Joe Burrow + Ja'Marr Chase + Tee Higgins will run you a casual $20,900 (41.8% of your allotted budget). That leaves you little room to do much else, and makes your lineups look quite similar to your opponents who are doing the same thing.

You're also not getting the best of matchups, either. The Bills have allowed the fewest passing yards per game (177.33) this season despite being ahead in many games. The way to beat them is on the ground, not through the air.

The case against the Bills

Who do you pair with Josh Allen? Sure, you could just play Josh Allen by himself and that'd be fine to do, but that doesn't constitute a stack - and if one of is pass catchers does, in fact, get there, then you're likely cooked not having them paired together.

Naturally, the Bengals are beatable everywhere, but they're also most beatable on the ground. We could be looking at a James Cook explosion game, who will also be popular in his own right.

Looking elsewhere: The Week 14 Stack of the Week

Indianapolis Colts: QB Daniel Jones ($6,200) + WR Michael Pittman Jr. ($5,400) + TE Tyler Warren ($5,000). Total salary: $16,600.

The Colts head south to face a Jacksonville defense that has been subpar against the passing game while stingy against the running game. This is tied for the second highest total game of the slate, at a 47.5 over/under, and right now it's set to be a close game, at least by Vegas standards.

Daniel Jones has not looked great since coming off the bye, and it's well-known now that he's playing football with a fractured fibula, which could easily knock him out of the game - if not for the season - with any sack that he takes.

If it wasn't for the injury risk, the recent play, and the fact that the highest total game has Burrow literally right above him ($6,500), I'd say that DJ would be the third-highest owned QB. Maybe that's still the case, but I think enough people will shy away from him that he may end up being sneakily underowned when the cards flip over. I've been wrong before, though.

For his receiving options, this sets up like a smash spot for the recently-disappointing Tyler Warren, who I'm hoping people are souring on while he sits at an awkward price for tight ends with playable cheap options below him, and Michael Pittman falls into that same boat, being outperformed by Alec Pierce in two of the last three weeks. I'm playing this as bounce-back spots all across the board.

Week 14 DraftKings DFS Picks

RB James Cook III, Buffalo Bills ($7,800)

See above about Bengals defense. Next!

WR Pat Bryant, Denver Broncos ($3,400)

This is not going to be sneaky. In fact, it might be a fish play, with the Broncos being massive favorites against the Raiders. But a guy averaging 6.5 targets over his last two games who is being heralded by his coaches and has snap shares trending upwards is just too cheap to be priced this way. Would I play Pat Bryant in lineups where I'm stacking the Bills or Bengals? Probably not, because ownership combinations will be through the roof. Everywhere else, though? Has to be in your pool.

TE Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints ($4,000)

Sixteen targets over his past two games. Sixteen! It's another game script where the Saints should pass a ton, and Juwan Johnson has been taking advantage of the opportunity from a volume standpoint, even if it hasn't translated to big yardage opportunities nor a touchdown yet. Even better, he's $100 more than the expected-to-be-chalky Brenton Strange, making him a natural leverage point to get some ownership edge. Fun fact! Juwan Johnson and Tyler Shough were once roommates in college.

Week 14 DraftKings DFS Fades

RB Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons ($8,500)

The usage, outside of the red zone, has been awesome for Bijan. And he continues to perform well, including involvement in the passing game. But the Seahawks defense is no joke, and it might make for tough sledding overall for the Falcons. At his price point, and given the expensive priorities we may have elsewhere, I think there are cheaper options with similar outcome ranges this week. Bijan may get there, but so will they.

WR Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams ($8,700)

Almost identically similar to the situation with Bijan, except the matchup - and the game environment - is better. They're just not looking at Puka in the red zone anymore. And at this high cost (when Ja'Marr Chase is $500 cheaper!), you need to feel like more of a threat to score to hit ceiling outcomes. Does that mean Puka can't do it? No. But again, our high-priced priorities lie elsewhere this week.
