2026 Indianapolis Colts Mock Draft: In a Weak QB Class, Will They Take One?

The 2025 NFL season has come to a close, leaving us ready to start the NFL draft process.
What a confusing team the Indianapolis Colts are. Everything about this team feels paper-thin. We have no idea what is going on at QB (other than they just told Anthony Richardson he can look for a trade), we know the defense is good until they're hurt and then they're not. They're possibly losing Alec Pierce to free agency. The one constant is Jonathan Taylor, and even then, it's just one injury away from being the DJ Giddens show.
So where do you even begin? I have to think that they're going to bring in a veteran QB instead of relying on Riley Leonard, who they clearly don't seem thrilled with given they un-retired a high school football coach to play at the end of the season. But if they don't trust Riley Leonard, and they're bringing in a veteran that's been cast aside (Tua?), do they still want to see if they can find a QB of the future?
I'm betting they do, whether it's this draft or next, and for the sake of this seven round Indianapolis Colts mock draft, we're going to bet on it being this draft. It's just a matter of who and when. And there's depth holes to fill scattered throughout this team, so this will be a fun draft to do for us - and a brutal one for the Colts front office with so much on the line.
Oh yeah, and we're not trading, either.
Let's get to it.
Indianapolis Colts Mock Draft Picks
Round 2, Pick 47: Anthony Hill Jr., LB, Texas
Round 3, Pick 78: Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern
Round 4, Pick 113: Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State
Round 5, Pick 154: Drew Allar, QB, Penn State
Round 6, Pick 217: Jalen Catalon, S, Missouri
Round 7, Pick 231: Jeff Caldwell, WR, Cincinnati
Round 7, Pick 253: Anez Cooper, OG, Miami (FL)
Draft Analysis
Again, we just have no idea what the Colts are going to do here. No first round pick, no QB, a team that massively overperformed, has talent but not a lot of depth. It feels like they need to rebuild...I'm less convinced they will. So, for the most part, we're trying to find the pieces that can improve this team to keep them afloat here.
Anthony Hill Jr. could be an impact linebacker right out the gate for this team, as they may lose last year's starter, Germaine Pratt, to free agency.
Adding to the offensive line never feels like a bad idea, so grabbing Caleb Tiernan, who could slot in at tackle or guard, will add depth to protect whomever is taking snaps with starter potential as well.
And then there's Drew Allar. Of all the projected-later draft picks, he feels the most "ready" (yes, I'm saying that loosely) to start for a team. Does that mean he should? I wouldn't say so, nor would almost anyone, but if they strike out in the free agency or trade market, having Allar compete with Riley Leonard and basically starting the rebuild for 2027 might be the move. Drew Allar certainly could be a starter down the line if he's allowed to develop more, and that'd be the dream scenario for the Colts here.
Fantasy Impacts
No fantasy impacts here in the immediate. I guess a last-round flier on Drew Allar on QB-needy dynstay teams isn't the worst idea, but that's among plenty of other not-worst-idea options.
