For those of you new to fantasy football, or if you are just looking for a new strategy, “Streaming” is the idea of selecting somebody from the Free Agent pool or waiver wire based on favorable matchups. This strategy is particularly effective if you failed to draft an elite player at QB, TE, or DEF.
The NFL changes quite a bit from week to week and year to year, I will try to help alleviate your concerns and focus on players that I would try and stream. This year more than ever (Thanks, COVID) will be difficult to Stream. Most leagues have expanded rosters, so this year, I will be looking at only players who are available in UNDER 50% of Yahoo leagues. All options may not be available in your specific league.
My apologies for not getting an actual article out to you last week – real life has a tendency to get in the way of Fantasy Football! That being said the tweet I put out still provided some excellent streamers who performed well to get you into the playoffs. Baker’s 4 TD’s and 35.96 Fantasy Points were good enough for the QB4 on the week and Kirk Cousins 305yds, 3 TD’s, and 1 INT was still good enough to finish in the top-10 also. Anthony Firkser’s 7.6 fantasy points did not lose you the week, but he finished as the TE18 on the week. Tight End is a dumpster fire and completely touchdown-dependent. Give Firkser the TD that went to his backup, and he is the TE7 on the week. The Raiders 5 DST Fantasy Points was good enough to have them finish in the top-12 but did leave something to be desired on the week. Check out who is going to help you stream your way through the first round of your fantasy playoffs!

This Week's Streaming Beer of Choice: Louie's Demise, Milwaukee Brewing Co.
This medium bodied amber ale starts with a rich malt flourish that’s kept in perfect balance by a smooth hop finish. This MBC original is similar to a German style alt beer.
Quarterback
Philip Rivers @ LV, 39% owned
Rivers has been consistent of late with 285 yards or more in 4 straight, and multiple TD’s in his last 3. The Raiders Defense is not one to fear. My only concern here is that the Colts do enough damage on the ground to not warrant enough pass attempts to keep Rivers in the QB1 conversation.
Andy Dalton @ CIN, 13% owned
REVENGE GAME! Who does not love a good narrative heading into the week? Andy Dalton heads back to Cincinnati where he spent his entire career prior to this season. The Cowboys defense is in rough shape, and Dalton should have his full complement of weapons. I like Dalton to finish as a QB1 in a good matchup this week.
Mike Glennon vs TEN, 3% owned
Not a sexy call, but Glennon has shown a Ryan Fitzpatrick-Esque “DGAF” attitude of late, chucking the ball downfield constantly. With the Titans being the 6th best matchup for opposing QB’s all he needs is a few of these deep shots to connect to work his way into streamer territory.
Tight End
Logan Thomas @ SF, 41% owned
I was on him earlier this year based on volume alone, but now true talent is starting to show. Coming off his career-best game against the Steelers, he could ride that momentum against the 49ers who are most vulnerable over the middle of the field. Alex Smith should continue to get the ball out quick and funnel targets to Thomas this week.
Dalton Schultz @ CIN, 20% owned
If I like the Red Rifle, I have to love his weapons this week, right? The Bengals are the 3rd best matchup for opposing Tight Ends, and Schultz has seen at least 4 targets in all but just 1 game so far this year. A soft matchup and a QB out for revenge, I like Schultz a lot this week.
Cole Kmet vs HOU, 1% owned
This is probably a very deep play, but Kmet finally ran more routes than Jimmy Graham last week. With the rookie taking on more of a role, I look for him to capitalize off his 7 targets, 5 catch, 1 touchdown performance from a week ago.
Defense/Special Teams
Tennessee @ JAC, 32% owned
After getting obliterated by Baker last week, Tennessee should come out ready to play this week. They have talent on all 3 levels of the defense, but it has yet to truly show this year. A 3rd String QB could be just what they need to step up.
Washington @ SF, 25% owned
The Football Team’s defense came to play against Big Ben this past week. Their defensive line is terrifying and now gets to go up against a backup QB. They have compiled 14 sacks and 5 turnovers in their past 5 games, I expect both of these numbers to increase.
Carolina vs DEN, 11% owned
The Panther's defense has come to play the last few games with 9 sacks and 6 turnovers in the last 4 games. Denver is the 2nd best matchup for opposing Defense/Special Teams units, so watch for the young Panthers to take advantage of Drew Lock’s mistakes.
Stay tuned next week to see the results from all the players mentioned above, as well as my streamers for next week. Follow me on Twitter for more updates and insight @jjgosh
