Game Scripts
The Lions are entering this game as promising 9 point road favorites with a dominant projected team total of 29.5 points, the highest among all 28 teams on the week 10 slate. The promising spread suggests a run-heavy approach while the dominant projected team total suggests endless touchdown opportunities.
The Packers are entering this game as slim 2 point home favorites with a decent projected team total of 24.0 points. The narrow spread suggests a balanced offensive approach while the decent projected team total suggests serviceable touchdown opportunities.
Positional Matchups
After 9 games, the Commanders present a mouthwatering matchup for QBs, allowing the 3rd most passing yards, 5th most passing TDs, 15th most rushing yards and 2nd most fantasy points per game (20.62).
After 8 games, the Eagles present a subpar matchup for QBs, holding them to the 15th fewest passing yards, 5th fewest passing TDs and 15th fewest fantasy points per game (16.6).
Jared Goff: Bottom Line
I expect Jared Goff to finish, on average, around 17–21 fantasy points on ~30–34 pass attempts (~235–260 yards), 2–3 passing TDs, and 0–1 INT with minimal rushing production (~0–5 yards).
Jordan Love: Bottom Line
I expect Jordan Love to finish, on average, around 16–21 fantasy points on ~29–34 pass attempts (~240–285 yards), 1–2 passing TDs, 0–1 INT, and ~10–25 rushing yards with 0–1 rushing TD.
Should you start Jared Goff or Jordan Love?
The matchup is so great for Jared Goff. The problem there, of course, is that the Lions could also run the ball 40 times in this game and limit Goff to fewer attempts than we'd like. That produces a wide range of possible outcomes. Still, there's upside to be had and points to be scored, so I would be playing Jared Goff this weekend over Jordan Love.
