With a strong 47.5 point over/under — tied for the 3rd highest among all 16 games on the slate — and both teams sporting top 19 implied team totals of 22 points or more, Jaguars at 49ers looks like a contest that will feature plenty of touchdowns and fantasy football fireworks. The 49ers in particular are entering week 4 with an encouraging 25.5 implied points, tied for the 6th most among all 32 teams this week. They're an offense you want exposure to in your week 4 lineups.
Commanders at Falcons opened with an above-average 45.5 point over/under, suggesting a sliver of shootout appeal if the Falcons can exceed their slightly subpar scoring expectation (22 points, the 14th "fewest" among all 32 teams playing this week). Meanwhile, the narrow 1.5 point spread suggests a close game and balanced offensive approach for both teams.
Positional Matchups
The Jaguars present a friendly matchup for WRs, allowing the 3rd most catches, 8th most yards, 7th most touchdowns and 6th most PPR points per game. That said, they DO limit WRs to the 16th fewest PPR points per catch (2.62), suggesting their WR vulnerabilities are more because of sheer volume than efficiency.
The Commanders present a friendly matchup for WRs, holding them to the 12th fewest catches but otherwise allowing the 10th most yards, 7th most touchdowns, 4th most PPR points per catch (3.32) and 7th most PPR points per game. Of course, all of that is skewed by Tre Tucker's 40.9 (!) PPR points in week 3 (145 yards, 3 touchdowns).
Jauan Jennings: Bottom Line
High end WR3 in a high-total game; role looks stable (77% snaps, ~20% targets). Expect Jauan Jennings ~10–14 PPR on ~6–9 nice targets.
Darnell Mooney: Bottom Line
Solid WR3 in a close, mediocre matchup. Expect Darnell Mooney ~9–13 PPR points on ~7–10 targets.
Should I start Jauan Jennings or Darnell Mooney?
I think Jauan Jennings is the play here. Even with Mac Jones as his QB back in week two, Jauan Jennings still put up nearly 20 PPR points on 10 targets. With a stable role and a high-total game, this feels like an opportunity to capitalize on.
