Game Scripts

The Bills are entering this game as promising 9 point road favorites with a dominant projected team total of 29.5 points, the highest among all 28 teams on the week 10 slate. The promising spread suggests a potentially run-heavy approach while the dominant projected team total suggests endless touchdown opportunities.

The Panthers are entering this game as comfortable 5 point home favorites with a mediocre projected team total of 22.5 points. The comfortable spread suggests a potentially run-heavy approach while the mediocre projected team total suggests modest touchdown opportunities.

Positional Matchups

After 9 games, the Dolphins present a terrifying matchup for WRs, somehow allowing the 15th most touchdowns despite holding them to the fewest catches (9.33), fewest yards (104.22) and fewest PPR points per game.

After 9 games, the Saints present a mediocre matchup for WRs, allowing the 7th most touchdowns and 8th most PPR points per catch (2.99) but holding WRs to the 10th fewest catches, 10th fewest yards and 16th fewest PPR points per game. Notably, they've been worse in recent weeks than they were earlier in the season.

Khalil Shakir: Bottom Line

I expect Khalil Shakir to finish, on average, around 10–14 PPR points on ~5–8 targets (~4–6 catches, ~45–65 yards) with 0–1 TD in a slate-best team environment but potentially run-leaning script.

Tet McMillan: Bottom Line

I expect Tet McMillan to finish, on average, around 11–15 PPR points on ~7–10 targets, ~5–7 catches, ~60–85 yards, and 0–1 TD in a modest, potentially run-leaning script.

Should you start Khalil Shakir or Tet McMillan?

While both of these guys have downside risk for the game getting out of hand and being a run fest, I'm more confident that Tet McMillan will both see the higher volume and have less of that runaway risk, so I'd lean that way despite the high team total for the Bills.
