Welcome back to my ongoing series where I review every entry I'll be putting into the DraftKings Best Ball Millionaire tournament in 2025.
Team number three is yet another Jayden Daniels team, but this time, I skipped on both his top receivers and got something a little unique to stack with - and need a different type of outcome from Jayden this season, too.
To the team!
Position-by-position breakdown:
2 QBs
6 RBs
9 WRs
3 TEs
I mentioned in my write-up on the second team that this ends up being my default build when I'm comfortable with my QB1 or the combination of my QB1 and QB2. Generally speaking, if I'm taking an early QB, as I did in this case, I'm sticking with two QBs.
The stacks
Washington Commanders - Jayden Daniels plus a double stack
QB Jayden Daniels (pick 41)
RB Austin Ekeler (pick 128)
TE Zach Ertz (pick 137)
I actually wasn't intending on taking Jayden Daniels in the fourth round, but the board kind of fell to me that way.
Terry McLaurin was available to me in the late third round, and grabbing him and Jayden back-to-back in these scenarios is something I've done before in non-Millionaire contests, but Tyreek Hill was also available at that spot - who continues to rise to now be a second-round pick on DraftKings. I wasn't going to pass up the ADP value there.
When looking at the board that followed into my fourth round spot, I had the choice of taking a WR that would've doubled up on some bye weeks in Courtland Sutton (which is fine to do!), taking someone like James Cook at the RB spot (I went WR-WR-WR to start), or setting up a backdoor stack with Jayden Daniels. You obviously already know where I went.
And how did I end up with no Deebo? Well, I would've had to take him well ahead of ADP to get in front of someone who might have been using a draft guide from like 2023, as they reached hard on both Deebo and Brandon Aiyuk (and they took Brock Purdy!)
Do I really like the stack looking this way in hindsight? Eh, it's okay. I probably should've added Noah Brown late (although taking a rookie nearly two rounds past ADP makes up for that - more on that selection later), but really what this is saying here is I'm relying more on Jayden Daniels to run than to pass.
Jacksonville Jaguars - Trevor Lawrence plus a double stack
QB Trevor Lawrence (pick 113)
WR Brian Thomas Jr. (pick 17)
WR Dyami Brown (pick 185)
I'm now three-for-three in drafting Jaguars stacks in the DraftKings Best Ball Millionaire. I can guarantee I won't want to continue that trend on all my teams, but they keep falling to me in the right spots.
I wrote about Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. in detail for team one and team two, but Dyami Brown is a new addition to the portfolio here. I think he's most likely to secure that WR3 role on the team and play a high number of snaps, including those where Travis Hunter will not be on the field as they (maybe?) limit him a bit for situational work. Will that lead to increased target share? Maybe not, but it does lead to increased upside opportunity for it.
The playoff correlations
RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. (pick 104) and WR Darius Slayton (pick 209) play against the Commanders in week 15.
All other correlations are smaller correlations without QBs associated with them, and while it's not as much as I would normally like, I made up for it with multiple players having large ADP values on this team, including my last wide receiver taken, rookie Jaylin Noel, falling over two rounds past ADP.
