Tee Higgins betting odds as of
💰 Over/Under 875.5 receiving yards (-112 over, -112 under)
💰 T24th best odds of leading the NFL in receiving yards (+5500)
NOTE: Tee Higgins is averaging 71.8 receiving yards per game over 28 contests that he’s played alongside Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase, a rate that would equate to about 1,221(ish) receiving yards over a full 17 game season.
Fantasy Football:
Tee Higgins is entering his age 25 season and year 5 in the NFL, playing on the Cincinnati Bengals' franchise tag and looking to get rewarded with a massive contract—from the Bengals or another team—following this season.
Fantasy football managers undoubtedly have a sour taste in their mouth following Tee Higgins' career worst campaign of 76 targets, 42 catches, 656 yards, 5 TDs and a WR 51 finish in 2023.
But Higgins was in and out of the lineup with injuries, missing 5 games and playing in just 5 full games with MVP caliber QB Joe Burrow—Higgins averaged 12.8 PPR points per game during those 5 games by the way, a rate that would have made him fantasy's WR 25 over a full 17 game season.
Context matters, and it's helpful to look at the bigger picture. Shall we?
In 28 career games that Higgins has played at least 40 offensive snaps alongside Joe Burrow and Ja'Marr Chase, he's averaging a sterling 15.0 PPR points and 8.0 targets per game.
For context, 15 PPR points per game over a 17 game season would have been good for a WR 13 finish in 2023, and 8 targets per game would have ranked 15th most among WRs.
He's a bit "boom or bust" as a fantasy football asset, scoring 23 or more PPR points in 21.4% of games—including a high of 43 points in 2021—but also scoring fewer than 10 PPR points in 28.6% of games.
And of course, there's absolutely MASSIVE upside to Tee Higgins should anything ever happen to Ja'Marr Chase...
Higgins is averaging 16.5 PPR points and 8.2 targets per game over 14 games with Burrow but not Chase.
And that's including 9 games in 2020 when both Higgins and Burrow were rookies. If you want more recent numbers, Higgins is averaging 20(!) PPR points and 8.8 targets per game over 5 games without Chase since 2022.
We've already seen not just big games, but also big seasons from Higgins in his career: He was fantasy's WR 19 in 2022 and fantasy's WR 24 in 2021 despite missing 3 games—his 15.6 PPR points per game were on pace for a WR 9 finish.
Not to mention that longtime Cincinnati Bengal Tyler Boyd is now in Nashville, freeing up even more opportunity in Burrow's offense after averaging 5.6 targets per game over the last 3 seasons.
And yet on Drafters.com, Tee Higgins is currently being drafted as fantasy's WR 31 around pick 43 overall (mid 4th round) ahead of a season where he's looking for a massive second contract.
He's a boom or bust WR 2 with WR 1 upside in any given week, and he's an absolute SMASH at his current cost in 2024 fantasy football drafts. He's currently ranked 36th overall in BBFF's 2024 Draft Guide (see photo at the bottom of this post!).
