Game Scripts

With a strong over/under — 47.5 points is tied for the 5th most among all 15 games on the week 6 slate — and both teams sporting top 16 implied point totals of 23 points or more, Seahawks at Jaguars is shaping up to be a potential shootout with no shortage of touchdown opportunities or fantasy football fireworks. This is a game you want exposure to this week.

The 49ers are entering week 6 as 3 point road underdogs with a slightly subpar implied point total of 22.25 points, the 11th lowest among all 30 teams playing this week. That said, 49ers at Buccaneers has a solid 47.5 point over under — tied for the 5th most among all 15 games this week — suggesting a sliver of shootout appeal if the 49ers can exceed their mediocre expectations. This is a fine game to target.

Positional Matchups

After 5 games, the Seahawks present a mediocre matchup for QBs, allowing the 7th most passing yards and 15th most passing TDs yet holding QBs to the 16th fewest rushing yards, no rushing TDs and the 10th fewest fantasy points per game (15.63).

After 5 games, the Buccaneers present an exciting matchup for QBs like Mac Jones, allowing the 13th most passing yards, 7th most passing TDs and 5th most fantasy points per game (20.94). All 5 QBs to face the Buccaneers have registered 15 or more fantasy points against them, including 2 that scored more than 24.

Trevor Lawrence: Bottom Line

Expect Trevor Lawrence ~15–20 fantasy points on ~32–36 pass attempts for ~215–255 yards and 1–2 passing TDs (0–1 INT) with ~10–20 rushing yards.

Mac Jones: Bottom Line

Expect Mac Jones ~18–23 fantasy points on ~40–44 pass attempts, ~285–325 yards, and 1–2 TDs (0–1 INT) in a potential mini-shootout spot.

Should you start Trevor Lawrence or Mac Jones?

Even if his best receivers don't play in this game, this matchup presents an excellent opportunity for Mac Jones to shine once again in Brock Purdy's absence.

Did I do this matchup specifically because it made it feel like a revenge narrative? Maybe. You'll never know for sure!
