How to Use Your Waiver Wire Priority Wisely in Fantasy Football

Managing the fantasy football waiver wire the right way can be the difference between finishing first or missing playoffs. In Week 11, plenty of managers will waste waiver claims on defenses or bench warmers — but smart players treat waiver priority like draft capital. Here’s how to win your waiver wire this week.

One of the greatest ways to create a consistent advantage over your league-mates week after week is to be smart about when you use your waiver claims, and go to bed on Tuesday night with a plan after waivers clear on Wednesday morning (or whenever your waiver wire runs).

As a general rule of thumb, you should only use your waiver wire priority on a player if you can realistically see them in your starting lineup. You should not burn your waiver wire priority on some dude who's just gonna warm up your bench.

Your fantasy football waiver wire priority is a precious commodity and it should be treated as such. Working your way up to number 1 in the fantasy football waiver wire line can be the equivalent to having 1.01 in your fantasy draft; you can land a legitimate league-winner with that spot if you're smart about it!

Imagine being first in line to add Brian Robinson if something happens to Christian McCaffrey, a 29-year-old running back handling 24.9 touches per game. You suddenly landed an RB 2 with RB 1 upside just by being patient.

Why would you burn that opportunity to pick up a defense or kicker?

Of course, it's imperative that you keep your own fantasy football league in mind. League size, roster size, starting-lineup structure, scoring settings, manager biases and more all matter when it comes to making decisions like this.

📋 Week 11 Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets

Here are 21 Week 11 fantasy football waiver wire targets to consider adding to your roster for week 11:

🟢 RB Woody Marks — Worthy of Waiver Wire priority if you can see him in your lineup.

Woody Marks played a season-high 80% of the snaps and handled a season-high 72.7% of the backfield touches. Nick Chubb played a season-low 13% of the snaps and handled a season-low 27.3% of the backfield touches.

🟢 QB Joe Burrow — Worthy of priority If you need QB & think he won't clear waivers.

Activated from IR, opening his 21-day practice window. Hopefully you didn't miss the chance to add him for free yesterday!

🔴 RB Trey Benson — Add for free after waivers clear.

Nearing a return and will likely slide right back into the RB 1 role when he's ready.

🔴 RB Blake Corum — Might be a trap.

Kyren Williams played a season-low 58% of the snaps and handled just 55.2% of the backfield touches while Blake Corum played a season-high 39% of the snaps and handled 44.8% of the backfield touches. Corum has handled 34% - 48% of the backfield touches in each of the last 3 games. That said, the Rams have won each of their last 3 games by 16 points or more, creating supremely positive game script that allows them to run the clock out in the 2nd half. The Rams have out-scored their opponents 128-46. Sledding won't be as easy against the Seahawks and Buccaneers in the next 2 games.

🔴 RB Sean Tucker — Add for free after waivers clear.

10 touches in Week 10 compared to 15 for Rachaad White. Possible shootout and nice matchup with the Bills in Week 11.

🔴 RB Tyler Allgeier — Add for free after waivers clear.

11 carries, 57 yards, 2 stupid touchdowns in week 10. Touchdown or bust RB 3/flex against the Panthers, Saints and Jets in the next 3 games.

🔴 WR Parker Washington — Add for free after waivers clear.

7-10 targets in each of the last 3 games.

🔴 WR Jayden Higgins — Add for free after waivers clear.

Jayden Higgins played more snaps (57%) than Xavier Hutchinson (53%) in a game with Nico Collins. Higgins caught 5 of 7 targets (15.9% target share) for 42 yards and 1 TD while Hutchinson didn't see a single target.

🔴 WR Troy Franklin — Add for free after waivers clear.

Troy Franklin has 8-10 targets in each of the last 4 games and 6 of 10 games this year.

🔴 WR Tez Johnson — Add for free after waivers clear.

5-9 targets, 4-5 catches and 42-58 yards in each of the last 3 games. Probable shootouts with Buffalo and the Rams coming up.

🔴 WR Jerry Jeudy — Add for free after waivers clear.

Jerry Jeudy caught 6 of 12 targets for 78 yards and 1 TD. It was his second time garnering 12+ targets in the last 4 games with Dillon Gabriel. Of course, he had just 2-5 targets in the other 3 games with Gabriel.

🔴 WR Alec Pierce — Add for free after waivers clear.

7+ targets and 4+ catches in 3 of the last 4 games. 69+ very nice yards in each of the last 4 games.

🔴 WR Keon Coleman — Add for free after waivers clear.

8 targets in week 10. Possible shootout with the Buccaneers in week 11.

🔴 WR Calvin Austin — Add for free after waivers clear.

6-7 targets in each of the last 3 games. Possible shootout with the Bengals in Week 11.

🔴 WR Tyler Lockett — Add for free after waivers clear.

With Jakobi Meyers in Jacksonville, Tyler Lockett played 57% of the snaps and led Raiders' WRs in targets with 6 (a strong 24% target share).

🔴 WR Mack Hollins — Add for free after waivers clear.

Hollins led Pats WRs in targets with 10 ( a dominant 34.5% target share). Hollins has 7+ targets in 2 of the last 3 games (30% or better target share in both).

🔴 WR Jalen Nailor — Add for free after waivers clear.

6 targets, 5 catches, 124 yards, 1 TD in Week 10. Mouthwatering matchup vs Chicago in week 11. But fewer than 6 targets, 4 catches and 38 yards in the other 8 games.

🔴 TE Cade Otton — Add for free after waivers clear.

12 targets, 9 catches, 82 yards in week 10. 5+ targets, 4+ catches and 40-82 yards in each of the last 5 games. Shootouts with the Bills and Rams coming up.

🔴 TE Dalton Schultz — Add for free after waivers clear.

Another 11 targets, 7 catches, 53 yards and 1 TD in week 10. Has 6+ targets in 6 of the last 7 games, including 8-11 in 3 of the last 4.
