Caleb Williams or Drake Maye: Who should I draft in 2025?

Would I take Caleb Williams or Drake Maye?


Despite what the numbers above might lead you to believe, I would take Caleb Williams here, who I have a tier above Drake Maye in the Draft Dominator tool. Taking players like this fits the mold of the type of quarterbacks I want to draft this year, as both are ascending talents going late enough to be considered in the QB2 range but have upside to be QB1s by the end of the season.


With Caleb Williams, the increase in high-upside talent around him and the coaching change to Ben Johnson could unlock, at minimum, more stability for him, raising his floor from the wild ups and downs he had last season, and there may even be some untapped upside to be had. Drake Maye has a similar bump, too, but his team may be more run-heavy than the Bears will, capping some of that upside.


Notably, though, I have both of these players ranked ahead of their current ADP, so taking either one on your team could help you outsmart your opponents on draft day.
