Game Scripts

The Bears are entering this game as slim 3-point road underdogs with a mediocre projected team total of 22.75 points, the 12th fewest among all 30 teams on the week 11 slate. The narrow spread suggests a balanced offensive approach while the mediocre projected team total suggests modest touchdown opportunities. Bears at Vikings has a healthy over/under of 48.5 points, suggesting a sliver of shootout potential if the Bears can exceed their modest scoring expectations.

The Bengals are entering this game as uncomfortable 5-point road underdogs with a mediocre projected team total of 22.0 points, the 9th fewest among all 30 teams on the week 11 slate. The uncomfortable spread suggests a potentially pass-heavy approach while the mediocre projected team total suggests modest touchdown opportunities. Bengals at Steelers has a healthy over/under of 49.5 points, suggesting a sliver of shootout potential if the Bengals can exceed their modest scoring expectations. Indeed, these two teams totaled 64 points in Week 7 when Joe Flacco's Bengals eeked out a 33-31 win over Aaron Rodgers' Steelers.

Positional Matchups

After 9 games, the Vikings present a mediocre matchup for QBs, allowing the 16th most rushing yards and 16th most rushing TDs but limiting them to the 10th fewest passing yards, 15th fewest passing TDs and 13th fewest fantasy points per game (16.4). 5 QBs in 9 games — including Caleb Williams earlier this season — scored 16+ fantasy points against the Vikings.

After 9 games, the Steelers present a great matchup for QBs, allowing the most passing yards (290.67 per game), 13th most passing TDs, 5th most rushing TDs and 6th most fantasy points per game (19.96). 7 QBs in 9 games — including Joe Flacco earlier this season — scored 15+ fantasy points against the Steelers.

Caleb Williams: Bottom Line

I expect Caleb Williams to finish, on average, around 19–23 fantasy points on ~33–37 pass attempts (~230–260 yards), 1–2 passing TDs, 0–1 INT, and ~25–35 rushing yards with a small chance to add a rushing TD.

Joe Flacco: Bottom Line

I expect Joe Flacco to finish, on average, around 21–26 fantasy points on ~40–46 pass attempts (~285–330 yards), 2–3 passing TDs, and 0–1 INT with minimal rushing output (~5 yards).

Should you start Caleb Williams or Joe Flacco?

The upside for Joe Flacco is too high to ignore. Caleb Williams has arguably been better than his stat lines show, but we've seen Flacco put up huge numbers in this offense, and the game clearly has shootout potential that's already come to fruition once.
