Game Scripts
The Eagles enter this week as 2.5 point favorites (suggests a balanced offensive approach) with a top 15 implied point total (suggests modest scoring opportunities). Expect 25-35 pass attempts and 18-23 RB rush attempts for the Eagles' offense.
The Lions are entering week 7 as confident 5.5 point home favorites with an elite projected team total of 29 points, the most among all 30 teams playing this week. The elite projected total suggests unlimited scoring opportunities, while the comfortable spread suggests a balanced-if-not-run-heavy approach if they pull away with it. With a mouthwatering over/under of 52.5 points — somehow the 2nd highest on the 15-game slate — and both teams sporting top 12 projected team totals, Buccaneers at Lions should see no shortage of touchdowns and fantasy football fireworks. This is a game you want exposure to in your week 7 lineups.
Positional Matchups
After 5 games, the Vikings are holding WRs to the fewest catches, fewest yards, 4th fewest touchdowns, fewest PPR points per game and 14th fewest PPR points per catch (2.71).
After 6 games, the Buccaneers present a mediocre matchup for WRs, allowing the 16th most catches and 11th most yards while holding them to the 16th fewest touchdowns, 15th fewest PPR points per game, and 13th fewest PPR points per catch (2.7).
DeVonta Smith: Bottom Line
I expect DeVonta Smith to finish, on average, around 10–14 PPR points on ~6–9 very nice targets for ~4–6 catches and ~55–80 yards with 0–1 TD.
Jameson Williams: Bottom Line
I "expect" Jameson Williams to finish, "on average", around 10–14 PPR points on ~5–8 targets (3–5 catches, ~55–85 yards), 0–1 TD.
Should you start DeVonta Smith or Jameson Williams?
There's a reason I put quotes around the Jameson Williams projections. He's simply hard to project; a classic boom-bust player where he's going to score 4 points or 34 points. What I do know is that the Lions project as one of the highest scoring offenses on the week, and as such, I'd rather take my chances on Jameson Williams in this scenario.
