We're back again with another preseason week one slate on DraftKings, and it's yet another three-game set for us to look at.

And, once again, we don't expect many starters to play in this slate, or any of the first preseason games for that matter, so we're looking down the depth charts to find some players with something to prove.

Here are three DraftKings DFS picks I'm considering in my lineups for Friday, August 8th.

QB Shedeur Sanders, Cleveland Browns

This feels a bit like a layup selection, and I'm guessing he'll be popular.

Shedeur Sanders is now in a five-way battle for not only making the Cleveland Browns roster, but also the starting quarterback job, going against presumed favorites Joe Flacco and currently injured Kenny Pickett along with third-round pick Dillon Gabriel (who himself is injured) and newly signed veteran Tyler Huntley.

With injuries to Pickett and Gabriel, plus Joe Flacco getting the veteran rest, that leaves Shedeur as basically the only player that even knows the playbook, offering an opportunity for him to climb the depth chart and us a quarterback who should have a large amount of playing time. And that's exactly what we need.

RB Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Washington Commanders

One of the biggest hype players right now is rookie Jacory Croskey-Merritt, with some people believing he could make a play for playing time as soon as week one for the Commanders. I'm not of that opinion, personally, but it would not shock me if we get an extended first half look at him tonight, especially as the backfield behind presumed co-starters Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Ekeler remains crowded.

Between Croskey-Merritt and returning players Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols, someone's got to miss the roster, and the coaching staff will need as much time to decide how they're going to shuffle this group around as possible.

TE Harold Fannin Jr., Cleveland Browns

Back to the Browns it is! Harold Fannin Jr. is expected to become a prolific pass-catching tight end and the theoretical heir apparent to David Njoku - or at least the second punch in a 1-2 punch with him. He can line up in-line or in the slot and make plays. Like most rookies, however, he's still competing with veterans for depth chart placement, making this his first statement case to earn what expectations precedes him. I expect Shedeur to pepper him early and often in this game. The only question will be how long the Browns let him be out there tonight.
