DraftKings Week 2 Picks: It's Overreaction Week! (2026)

Ladies and gentlemen, the first week of the NFL season is in the books, and after just one week, we now know everything that we need to know for the 2026 season.
Colston Loveland is not part of the Bears' offensive plans.
David Montgomery is the 2026 version of James Cook.
The Chargers are the biggest disappointment of the season.
Isaiah Likely is a top five TE the rest of the way.
Jalen Coker is an elite fantasy receiver.
I say this all in jest, of course, but our opponents? We see this year after year, there's a jarring ownership disparity in DFS between where a player logically should be owned and where they are owned in week two, simply by the things the general public thinks they know based off of a one game sample size.
Sometimes to a fault, I tend to lean on my priors more than the small sample sizes, and while there are certainly some things that we can tell on a macro level might be different than what we thought, once we get to the micro, player-level data, variance is still a major factor.
How do we go about leveraging this in GPP tournaments? For one, know that great players who had bad first games may go overlooked, while okay-to-good players who had phenomenal games are likely going to be over-owned. That's not to say full fade these guys, but be smart about how and when you play them.
With all that in consideration, here are my week 2 picks that I'm considering for my lineups.
Top stacks
The chalk: Dallas Cowboys (Dak Prescott + CeeDee Lamb + George Pickens)
The leverage: Philadelphia Eagles (Jalen Hurts + DeVonta Smith + Dallas Goedert)
Makes me sick, but considering it: New York Jets (Geno Smith + Garrett Wilson + Kenyon Sadiq)
The Commanders at Cowboys game projects as the highest total game on the slate, and we just saw both teams be pretty soft defensively in their first matchup. Both sides of this game are stackable, but it's the Cowboys side that's likely to get the most attention - and rightfully so, in my opinion. There's just more confidence in this team overall on the offensive side of the ball. Given the higher salary combination, you'll need to find some cheap uniqueness somewhere, which is easier said than done, but definitely not insurmountable on this slate.
Meanwhile, we also get a Philadelphia team that, in itself, doesn't have a ton of leverage points, but what they do have is similar price points to the Washington & Dallas pieces at what's expected to be much lower ownership:
Jalen Hurts ($6,700) is $300 more than Dak Prescott & $400 more than Jayden Daniels
DeVonta Smith ($6,800) is directly between CeeDee Lamb ($7,300) and George Pickens ($6,300)
Saquon Barkley ($7,000) is $600 more than Javonte Williams ($6,400)
That's just natural leverage on what will be the most popularly stacked game. And the Eagles, with a 23.25 implied team total, actually have a higher team total than the Commanders (23). I expect Saquon to get some ownership given the 7 point road favorite line against the lowly Titans that just gave up 23 to the Jets at home. The Eagles are better than the Jets.
But! The Jets aren't horrible for being really cheap, and it's pretty condensed of a passing game, too. They get the Packers defense that absolutely underperformed against Carson Wentz last week, and while they can get back to a more stable position there pretty easily, it's still a situation at cheap enough prices that I'm willing to bet on. The Packers are only 3.5 point road favorites here, so this could be a close enough game. Between Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson and freak athlete Kenyon Sadiq, there's cheap opportunity here.
One-off DraftKings week 2 picks
RB Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons ($8,200)
WR Terry McLaurin, Washington Commanders ($5,200)
TE Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans ($3,200)
Bijan Robinson was part of the Elite RB Explosion of week one despite having zero offensive help from the rest of the Falcons offense. But maybe that's the point - this guy can put up massive numbers in various ways, and he's in a spot to do it again this week. Many of you reading probably assumed Aaron Jones - who, in theory, will get most of the work for the Vikings this week with Jordan Mason on IR - would be the pick here, but I'm much more confident in Bijan having a positive return than Aaron Jones, even with an over $3,000 price difference.
There are better WR plays this week than Terry McLaurin, many of which I've already mentioned above, but consider this to be a vote of confidence for Terry in a high scoring matchup. It's a solid rebound spot where people are likely going to be hesitant to click him when Stefon Diggs just outperformed him and is only $200 more. Nothing in his skill set has changed, and he's not hurt, so I'm sticking to my priors and believing there's magic to be had.
Dalton Schultz looked like he was in a solid spot against the mediocre-at-best Cincinnati Bengals defense even before Nico Collins was ruled out for this game. The Texans offense is likely to take an efficiency hit, but the volume will be there. $3,200 for what is likely a top two target earner in a potential shootout game and fills the TE slot is simply way too cheap. Good chalk.
