Lions at Buffalo Bills: Game Preview
🔵 High Scoring Game
Lions at Bills has the highest — by far — over/under of all 16 games on the Week 2 slate, and BOTH teams are sporting top 10 projected scoring totals over 24 points, suggesting a potential shootout that should feature no shortage of touchdowns or fantasy football points.
This is arguably THE game you want exposure to in your week 2 fantasy football lineups.
Jared Goff Fantasy Preview
🟢 Matchup: Good
CJ Stroud dogged these Bills in Week 1, completing 26 of 38 passes for 274 yards (7th most in football) and 2 touchdowns while adding 15 scoreless rushing yards on 2 carries (20.46 fantasy points).
Small sample size, but this does not look like a defense to fear with offensive-minded Joe Brady now calling the shots in Buffalo.
🟢 Projection: QB 1
~270 Passing Yards + 1.565 Passing TDs = 17.40 fantasy points projection.
Lions Run Game: Jahmyr Gibbs & The Irrelevant Backups
🟢 Matchup: Good
David Montgomery just dog-walked these Bills, handling 23 touches — including 3 catches on 3 targets — for 79 scrimmage yards and 3 (!) touchdowns (28.9 PPR points).
Last year’s Bills allowed the 10th most scrimmage yards, 8th most touchdowns, and 10th most PPR points per game to opposing RBs
🔵 Jahmyr Gibbs: Elite RB 1
4 Catches, ~110 Scrimmage Yards, 1 TD = 21.08 PPR fantasy points projection.
🔴 Sione Vaki & Jacob Saylors: Solid Bench Stashes Only
They enter the RB 3/flex conversation if something happens to Jahmyr Gibbs. Vaki handled 3 touches in Week 1, Saylors handled 0.
Lions Wide Receivers: It's A Two Man Show
🟢 Matchup: Good
The Bills allowed the 5th most catches, 6th most yards, 1 TD, and 8th most PPR points to Texans’ WRs last week. Nico Collins in particular caught 7 of 10 targets for 75 yards and 1 TD (21.2 PPR points).
🔵 Amon-Ra St. Brown: Elite WR 1
7.5 Catches and ~79.5 Yards with a 47.6% chance of scoring a touchdown = 18.31 PPR fantasy points projection.
🟢 Jameson Williams: WR 2 With Upside
4 Catches and ~57.5 Yards with a 33.3% chance of scoring a touchdown = 11.75 PPR fantasy points projection.
🔴 Isaac TeSlaa: Single Game DFS Dart Only
1 Catch and 15.5 Yards with a 16.7% chance of scoring a touchdown (3.55 PPR points). You're just hoping he makes 1 big play on a single game slate in DFS. He DID play 52 offensive snaps in week 1 so he's at least ON the field.
Sam LaPorta Fantasy Preview
🟡 Matchup: Mediocre
Texans’ TEs had 8 catches (4th most in football), 64 receiving yards (11th most) and 14.4 PPR points in Week 1 (12th most). Dalton Schultz in particular caught 4 of 8 targets for 35 scoreless yards (7.5 PPR points).
🟢 Projection: TE 1
4 catches and ~46.5 yards with a 31.3% chance of scoring a touchdown = 10.53 PPR fantay points projection.
Josh Allen Fantasy Preview
🟢 Matchup: Good
Tyler Shough just dumped 410 passing yards (most in all of football) and 3 touchdowns (albeit with 2 interceptions) on these Lions (25.2 fantasy points).
🔵 Projection: Elite QB 1
~248.5 passing yards, 1.6 passing TDs, and ~29.5 rushing yards with a 57.4% chance of rushing for a touchdown = 22.83 fantasy points projection.
Bills RBs: James Cook Leads The Way
🟡 Matchup: Mediocre
In Week 1, the Lions limited Saints RBs to just 80 rushing yards (13th fewest in football), but also allowed 8 catches (the MOST in football), 30 receiving yards (13th most) and 1 TD. Saints RBs generated 25 PPR points against the Lions, the 14th “most” in football.
Travis Etienne handled 16 touches — including 7 catches on 9 targets — for 78 scoreless yards (14.8 PPR points), while Kendre Miller rushed 9 times for 30 yards and 1 TD (9 PPR points).
🟢 James Cook: RB 1
~78.5 rushing yards, 2 catches, and 14.5 receiving yards with a 63.6% chance of scoring a touchdown = 15.12 PPR fantasy points projection.
🔴 Ray Davis & Frank Gore Jr.: Solid Bench Stashes Only
They enter the RB 3/flex conversation if something happens to James Cook. Ray Davis would likely get the first crack, but it’s noteworthy that he played just 5 offensive snaps and handled just 1 touch in Week 1 while Frank Gore played 11 snaps and handled a touch of his own.
Bills WRs: Can You Trust Anyone Other Than DJ Moore?
🔵 Matchup: Elite
Saints WRs ran wild on Lions DBs in Week 1, racking up 20(!) catches (most in football by far), 293 yards (most in football by far), 1 touchdown and 55.6 PPR points (most in football).
Chris Olave caught 10(!) of 13(!) targets for 182(!) scoreless yards (28.2 PPR points), and Devaughn Vele caught 7 of 9 targets for 69 very nice yards and 1 touchdown (19.9 PPR points).
It’s a continuation of last season, when the Lions allowed the 7th most PPR points per game to opposing WRs.
🟢 DJ Moore: WR 2 With WR 1 Upside
4.5 catches and ~60.5 yards with a 40% chance of scoring a touchdown = 12.95 PPR fantasy points projection.
🟡 Khalil Shakir: WR 3 With Upside
4 catches and ~44.5 yards with a 32.3% chance of scoring a touchdown = 10.39 PPR fantasy points projection.
🔴 Keon Coleman Projection: Single Game DFS Dart Only
1 Catch and ~11.5 Yards with a 20.8% chance of scoring a touchdown = 3.40 PPR fantasy points projection. You're just hoping he makes 1 big play on a single game slate in DFS. He DID play 29 offensive snaps in week 1 so he's at least ON the field. For context, DJ Moore played 44 snaps and Khalil Shakir played 31.
🔴 Joshua Palmer Projection: Single Game DFS Dart Only
1 Catch and ~13.5 Yards with a 15.4% chance of scoring a touchdown = 3.27 PPR fantasy points projection. You're just hoping he makes 1 big play on a single game slate in DFS. He DID score a touchdown in Week 1, but he played just 18 offensive snaps compared to 44 for DJ Moore, 31 for Khalil Shakir, and 29 for Keon Coleman. I’d take a shot on Coleman over Palmer in Week 2 despite the Week 1 touchdown.
Dalton Kincaid Fantasy Preview
🔵 Matchup: Elite
Saints TEs racked up 7 catches (the 6th most in football), 87 yards (6th most), 2 touchdowns (most) and 27.7 PPR points (2nd most) against the Lions in Week 1. Juwan Johnson caught 3 of 7 targets for 54 yards and 1 TD (14.4 PPR points), PLUS Noah Fant caught 4 of 8 targets for 33 yards and 1 TD (13.3 PPR points).
🟢 Projection: TE 1 With Upside
4 catches and ~51.5 yards with a 36.4% chance of scoring a touchdown = 11.33 PPR fantasy points projection.
