Game Scripts

The Dolphins are entering week 6 as 4.5 point home underdogs with a subpar implied point total of 20 points, the 7th fewest most among all 30 teams playing this week. The unfavorable spread suggests neutral-negative game script and a potential pass-heavy offensive approach if the game gets away from them, while the below-average implied point total suggests touchdown opportunities will be limited.

With a devastatingly low over/under — 37.5 points is by far the lowest among all 15 games on the week 6 slate — and both teams sporting bottom 10 implied point totals under 22 points, Browns at Steelers is shaping up to be a snoozefest devoid of fantasy football fireworks. The Browns in particular are entering week 6 as 5.5 point road underdogs with a gut-wrenchingly low implied point total of just 16 points, the 2nd lowest among all 30 teams playing this week. The low implied total suggests touchdown opportunities will be severely limited, while the unfavorable spread suggests the Browns will be losing and need to throw more at the expense of rushing volume. This is a terrific spot to fire up the Steelers' defense if you have them.

Positional Matchups

After 5 games, the Chargers present an up-and-down matchup for TEs, holding them to the 4th fewest catches, 4th fewest yards and 5th fewest PPR points per game while allowing the 16th most touchdowns and 12th most PPR points per catch (0.4).

After 4 games, the Steelers present a friendly matchup for TEs, holding them to the 14th fewest catches and yet allowing the 10th most yards, 5th most touchdowns, 7th most PPR points per game and most PPR points per catch (3.05).

Darren Waller: Bottom Line

Expect Darren Waller ~10–14 PPR points on ~5–7 targets (4–5 catches, ~45–65 yards) with expanding routes/snap share as Miami’s No. 2/3 option behind Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane.

David Njoku: Bottom Line

Mid-range TE2 with real-path upside via volume. Expect David Njoku ~9–12 PPR points on ~6–8 targets; low team total suppresses touchdowns, but Steelers’ TE funnel props up efficiency.

Should you start Darren Waller or David Njoku?

Even if the Steelers matchup is an okay one for tight ends, I just don't really want to chase points in that game if I don't have to. Darren Waller feels like the right selection here.
