Game Scripts
The Saints are entering week 6 as 3.5 point home underdogs with a subpar implied point total of 21 points, the 9th fewest most among all 30 teams playing this week. The unfavorable spread suggests neutral-negative game script and a potential pass-heavy offensive approach if the game gets away from them, while the below-average implied point total suggests touchdown opportunities will be limited.
With a low over/under — 41.5 points is the 3rd lowest among all 15 games on the week 6 slate — and both teams sporting bottom 14 implied point totals under 23 points, Titans at Raiders is shaping up to be a snoozefest devoid of fantasy football fireworks.
Positional Matchups
After 5 games, the Patriots present a mediocre matchup for WRs, holding them to the 14th fewest catches but allowing the 16th most yards, 8th most touchdowns, 13th most PPR points per game and 8th most PPR points per catch (2.98).
After 5 games, the Titans present a friendly matchup for WRs, holding them to the 13th fewest touchdowns but allowing the 12th most catches, 6th most yards, 7th most PPR points per game and 12th most PPR points per catch (2.83).
Rashid Shaheed: Bottom Line
Expect Rashid Shaheed ~11–15 PPR points on ~6–8 targets (3–5 catches, ~55–80 yards) with volatile, splash-play TD upside in likely negative script.
Jakobi Meyers: Bottom Line
Expect Jakobi Meyers ~11–15 PPR points on ~7–10 targets (5–7 catches, ~60–80 yards) with solid volume but modest base TD odds in a low-total spot.
Should you start Rashid Shaheed or Jakobi Meyers?
What do you need more on your team: a safer floor or are you chasing ceiling outcomes? That's really what this decision comes down to. The range of outcomes for Jakobi Meyers feels pretty narrow, where for Rashid Shaheed, that range is quite wide for a multitude of reasons. Based on my style of play, I'd go for Rashid Shaheed here, but make the decision that best fits what you're looking for.
