I drafted this team before we knew how serious the Jayden Reed injury was

Not every team you draft ends up being good at the end of it all.

This one felt good! Jayden Reed was back at practice, had shed his boot, and the team was "hopeful" he'd suit up for week one. His ADP was still suppressed enough that building out a Jordan Love stack that included Jayden Reed under where he had been going most of the year fell into place.

Then, two days later, it's actually a Jones fracture - which is a major injury - and he's going to try and play through it rather than go on IR and come back for the stretch run. A double whammy of bad. And, naturally, I only made the Jordan Love stack a double stack, so now it looks like I'll have just 1.5 players - at best - for the rest of the season on this one.

Can't write about the good without writing about the bad. Let's get it over with.

The team, position by position

  • 2 QBs

  • 6 RBs

  • 9 WRs

  • 3 TEs

I guess the immediate silver lining is that this was an elite QB team, so I drafted an extra wide receiver. "Losing" one (I'm just presuming Reed is basically cooked) with nine is much easier to swallow than losing one with eight.

The stacks

Washington Commanders double stack

  • QB Jayden Daniels (pick 34)

  • WR Terry McLaurin (pick 39)

  • TE Zach Ertz (pick 135)

I really like this offense. As Jayden Daniels goes, so will I. Never been one to shy away from drafting with conviction!

Green Bay Packers double stack

  • QB Jordan Love (pick 130)

  • WR Jayden Reed (pick 106)

  • TE Tucker Kraft (pick 111)

I do like Tucker Kraft as a fun sleeper candidate at the TE position this year, although given his ADP, I suspect I'm probably not alone in that sentiment, so I haven't gotten a lot of him. I'm glad I did get a correlated version of him in the Milly, albeit without a hedge among the WR room.

Playoff correlations

  • Broncos RB RJ Harvey plays the Packers in week 15.

  • Giants WR Wan'Dale Robinson plays the Commanders in week 15.

  • Cowboys WR Kavontae Turpin plays the Commanders in week 17.
